Your role will center around designing meaningful and accessible physical education lessons tailored to individual needs. You’ll collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to foster growth and inclusion for every child you serve.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education, Adaptive Physical Education, or a related field
  • Valid state teaching license with Adaptive PE endorsement (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Previous experience working with students with disabilities preferred
  • Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • A passion for adaptive physical activity and student advocacy

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assessing students to identify needs and develop measurable goals for motor skills, fitness, and participation
  • Creating and implementing individualized lesson plans aligned with IEPs
  • Modifying equipment and activities for accessibility and success
  • Monitoring student progress and providing regular updates to the IEP team and families
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation as required
  • Building positive relationships to encourage confidence, self-esteem, and teamwork
