Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) | Arlington, Texas

Step into a pivotal role supporting students as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher. This contracted, very part-time position focuses on working in-person with school communities in the Dallas and Fort Worth areas, helping to ensure that every student has the chance to thrive through meaningful physical education experiences.

What you'll bring:

• Experience as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher, with expertise in tailoring programs for diverse student needs.
• Ability to perform in-person assessments, providing thorough and insightful evaluations.
• Skill in updating and tracking Adaptive Physical Education (APE) goals to align with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Comfortable with flexible, as-needed scheduling and traveling between campuses as required.
• Strong collaboration skills and commitment to attending IEP meetings when necessary.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed in-person evaluations with students to assess abilities and needs.
• Develop and update targeted APE goals for each student, ensuring documentation is current and relevant.
• Deliver engaging, inclusive APE sessions on campus, adapting lessons to suit a variety of abilities.
• Participate in IEP meetings when requested, working alongside educators and families to develop the best learning strategies for each individual.
• Maintain clear and timely communication with school personnel, students, and families regarding progress and adjustments.
