Grades 6 - 8 K-5 Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) | Arlington, Texas

Key Qualifications:

• Hold a valid teaching certification in Adaptive Physical Education or Physical Education with an adaptive endorsement.
• Experience working with students who have a variety of physical, intellectual, or behavioral challenges.
• Strong ability to modify and differentiate activities to accommodate individual student needs.
• Effective communicator, able to partner with teachers, therapists, and families.
• Previous experience across multiple grade levels (K-12) is highly desirable.
• Organized, flexible, and enthusiastic about inclusive physical education.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized and group physical education lesson plans that address students’ unique strengths and needs.
• Conduct assessments to monitor progress, set measurable goals, and adjust instruction as needed.
• Collaborate with special education teams, classroom teachers, therapists, and parents to support student development.
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
• Foster a supportive environment that promotes participation, confidence, and enjoyment of physical activity for all students.
