Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Adaptive Physical Education
• Experience working with students in grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12
• Knowledge of individual education plans (IEPs) and ability to adapt lessons to meet varied needs
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with general educators, therapists, and families
• Dedication to fostering an encouraging, safe, and active learning space for all students

Responsibilities:

• Develop, adapt, and deliver physical education curriculum tailored to individual student needs across elementary, middle, and high school age groups
• Evaluate student abilities and maintain ongoing documentation of progress
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate in the goal-setting process for each student
• Incorporate a range of equipment and activities to engage students with differing physical and cognitive abilities
• Provide instruction and support to both students and staff to facilitate inclusion in regular physical education settings where appropriate
• Ensure a safe and positive environment during all activities
