This part-time, onsite role involves traveling between several campuses to deliver direct services and consultative support for students requiring adaptive PE programming. Your impact will help empower students to develop physical skills, confidence, and lifelong healthy habits.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current Adaptive Physical Education certification or licensure (as required)
  • Prior experience in school-based settings, particularly with middle school students with disabilities
  • Effective communicator and collaborator with educators, service providers, and families
  • Ability to balance direct instruction and professional consultation
  • Strong organizational skills for managing itinerant responsibilities across campuses
  • Successfully pass a drug screening, fingerprinting, and background/CORI check
  • Reliable transportation necessary for district-wide travel
  • Punctual, dependable, and proactive in communication—notify appropriate parties if unable to attend

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver adaptive PE instruction to middle school students as outlined in IEPs
  • Travel between assigned district campuses to offer services
  • Consult with staff to support inclusion and best practices for adaptive PE
  • Document progress, services, and attendance in line with district guidelines
  • Engage in planning meetings, professional development, and collaboration sessions
  • Foster an environment that encourages student participation, safety, and growth
