APE Teacher - Chicopee, Massachusetts

Share your expertise as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher, providing essential support to middle school students across a dynamic district for the upcoming 2026/2027 school year. This part-time, onsite role involves traveling between several campuses to deliver direct services and consultative support for students requiring adaptive PE programming. Key Qualifications:

• Current Adaptive Physical Education certification or licensure (as required)
• Prior experience in school-based settings, particularly with middle school students with disabilities
• Effective communicator and collaborator with educators, service providers, and families
• Ability to balance direct instruction and professional consultation
• Strong organizational skills for managing itinerant responsibilities across campuses
• Successfully pass a drug screening, fingerprinting, and background/CORI check
• Reliable transportation necessary for district-wide travel
• Punctual, dependable, and proactive in communication—notify appropriate parties if unable to attend

Responsibilities:

• Deliver adaptive PE instruction to middle school students as outlined in IEPs
• Travel between assigned district campuses to offer services
• Consult with staff to support inclusion and best practices for adaptive PE
• Document progress, services, and attendance in line with district guidelines
• Engage in planning meetings, professional development, and collaboration sessions
• Foster an environment that encourages student participation, safety, and growth
