Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Adaptive Physical Education or related field
- Valid teaching certification with an APE endorsement (or eligibility)
- Previous experience teaching adaptive PE to children or adolescents preferred
- Solid understanding of IEP processes and ability to adapt curriculum appropriately
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and parents
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized adaptive physical education lesson plans
- Assess student abilities and progress, maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student goals
- Create an inclusive, safe, and engaging physical activity environment for students with varied physical and developmental needs
- Provide guidance and resources to school staff on adaptation strategies to promote student inclusion
