Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota teaching license with Adaptive Physical Education endorsement (DAPE).
  • Demonstrated experience planning and delivering adaptive PE curriculum for elementary students with a variety of disabilities.
  • Strong collaboration skills to coordinate with general and special education staff.
  • Creative approach to modifying activities for accessibility and engagement.
  • Outstanding communication abilities for interacting with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility to split time efficiently between two locations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement individualized adaptive physical education programs aligned with student IEPs.
  • Assess students’ abilities and progress, documenting outcomes to inform future instruction.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers to integrate physical activities into daily learning.
  • Adjust instructional strategies and equipment to meet each child’s specific needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings, providing input on student progress.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages all students to reach their potential.
