Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid certification in Adaptive Physical Education or equivalent endorsement
• Prior experience teaching adaptive PE in a school environment
• Strong understanding of IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) and ability to adapt curriculum
• Collaborative, team-oriented attitude with the ability to work alongside staff and families
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, teachers, and support teams
• Creative problem-solving skills and flexibility to individualize lessons based on student abilities

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement adaptive physical education lessons that align with each student’s IEP goals
• Assess students’ abilities and progress, and adjust activities to ensure accessibility and participation for all
• Document student progress and maintain detailed records
• Work closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and school staff to coordinate services and share insights
• Communicate regularly with families to provide updates and resources for student support
• Foster an inclusive, positive environment that motivates and inspires students to achieve their best
