Empower students of all abilities to thrive through physical education by stepping into a key Adaptive Physical Education Teacher role on a contract basis. Serving multiple sites near Concord, NC, you'll deliver impactful, individualized instruction for students with disabilities in alignment with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
Your passion and expertise will help create safe, structured, and inclusive classrooms where every student can grow. This full-time position (40 hours/week) starts as soon as possible and continues through May 28, 2028.
What You Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited education program
- Valid NCDPI Physical Education Certification (ready to provide proof of licensure)
- Experience in adaptive physical education and/or with students with disabilities preferred
- Strong ability to modify lessons to meet individual learning needs and IEP goals
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with staff, students, and families
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver adaptive PE instruction tailored to students with varied abilities and needs
- Develop, adapt, and evaluate lesson plans to foster physical and motor development
- Differentiate instruction and activities for diverse learners
- Assess student progress, document achievements, and contribute to IEP meetings
- Work closely with special education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Supervise students, ensure safety, manage classroom behavior, and uphold district policies
- Participate in professional development and additional duties as assigned
