Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) - Corona, CA

Exciting new full-time opportunity available for an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to support students across K-12th grades for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students in Riverside County by creating an adaptive environment where all learners can thrive physically and emotionally.

As an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including general education teachers and related service providers, to design and implement individualized physical education programs tailored for students with diverse needs. Your expertise and passion will empower students at multiple grade levels, helping them achieve their fullest potential through adaptive movement and recreation.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching credential in Adapted Physical Education or eligibility for appropriate state certification
• Previous experience in adaptive or general physical education, preferably in a school setting
• Strong knowledge of modifying activities and curriculum for students with varying abilities
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
• Ability to assess student needs, write measurable goals, and maintain accurate documentation

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging adaptive PE lessons for K-12 students
• Assess students’ motor skills and physical abilities, creating individualized programs based on IEP requirements
• Foster a supportive, inclusive atmosphere to encourage participation and positive self-image
• Collaborate with special education teams on goal development and progress monitoring
• Promote and model safe practices in all physical activities
