Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) in Corona, CA

Step into a meaningful role as an Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher, supporting students across three non-public schools in the greater Corona area. This contract position provides the opportunity to make a significant impact on students' physical development while collaborating closely with school teams and families. The assignment is onsite only, ensuring hands-on involvement in daily activities and IEP processes.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching credential in Adaptive Physical Education (APE) or closely related certification
• Demonstrated experience working with students who have diverse physical and educational needs
• Strong knowledge of creating and implementing individualized physical education plans
• Familiarity with IEP meetings, assessments, and legal compliance in special education
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to provide direct instruction, track student progress, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver adapted physical education services for small groups and individual students at:
  • Canyon View in San Dimas (4 students, primary level)
  • Villa Esperanza in Pasadena (1 student)
  • Chino Spectrum in Chino Hills (1 student)
• Provide both regular and make-up instructional minutes
• Conduct assessments and prepare progress reports
• Participate actively in IEP meetings, goal setting, and documentation
• Travel between assigned sites as needed to ensure consistent service delivery
• Work closely with site staff and administration to support optimum student outcomes
