Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education, Special Education, or related field.
• State certification as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE).

• Ability to develop individualized activities tailored to each student’s abilities.
• Flexible and adaptive approach to lesson planning and instruction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement adaptive physical education lessons for students with diverse physical abilities.
• Assess individual student needs, strengths, and areas of improvement, and adjust activities accordingly.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to integrate physical education with IEP goals.
• Track student progress, prepare reports, and participate in IEP meetings as needed.
• Foster an inclusive, safe, and positive environment that motivates students to participate and succeed.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow state and district guidelines for physical education instruction.
