Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching credentials with authorization in Adaptive Physical Education
- Experience working with K-12th students, especially those with physical or mental challenges
- Knowledge of current APE best practices, physical education curriculum adaptations, and individualized education plan (IEP) development
- Strong communication skills to partner with staff, students, and families
- Demonstrated flexibility, creativity, and commitment to inclusive education
What You’ll Do:
- Assess student needs, design and implement adaptive physical education lessons for a diverse K-12 caseload
- Create engaging, age-appropriate activities and modify curriculum to meet individualized goals
- Monitor student progress and document outcomes for IEPs
- Collaborate with special education team members and related service providers
- Attend IEP meetings, share insights, and support families through ongoing communication
- Promote an inclusive, supportive environment where all students can build confidence and physical skills
