Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) | Fontana, California

Step into a rewarding contract role as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher, supporting K-12 students with diverse needs for the entire 2026-2027 school year. This newly available, full-time position is an exciting opportunity to make an impact, teaching and adapting physical education curriculum for students in Riverside County.

Key Qualifications:

• California teaching credential with Adaptive Physical Education authorization
• Experience working with students in K-12 settings, preferably in a school environment
• Strong collaborative skills for partnering with general educators, parents, and support staff
• Expertise in modifying lessons and equipment to fit individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized APE lessons to meet students’ physical and developmental needs
• Assess, document, and report progress toward IEP goals collaboratively with IEP teams
• Actively participate in IEP meetings, providing recommendations and updates to staff and families
• Foster a safe, inclusive environment where all students can participate and experience growth
• Educate staff on adaptive strategies and advocate for students’ needs and access to physical education
• Contribute to a positive school climate by encouraging lifelong fitness and wellness habits
