This newly available, full-time position is an exciting opportunity to make an impact, teaching and adapting physical education curriculum for students in Riverside County.
Key Qualifications:
- California teaching credential with Adaptive Physical Education authorization
- Experience working with students in K-12 settings, preferably in a school environment
- Strong collaborative skills for partnering with general educators, parents, and support staff
- Expertise in modifying lessons and equipment to fit individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized APE lessons to meet students’ physical and developmental needs
- Assess, document, and report progress toward IEP goals collaboratively with IEP teams
- Actively participate in IEP meetings, providing recommendations and updates to staff and families
- Foster a safe, inclusive environment where all students can participate and experience growth
- Educate staff on adaptive strategies and advocate for students’ needs and access to physical education
- Contribute to a positive school climate by encouraging lifelong fitness and wellness habits
