A summer opportunity is available for an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to provide specialized instruction during Extended School Year (ESY) services within a small K-12 district. This position is located in Piedmont, CA, and requires on-site attendance throughout the contract period from June 8, 2026, to July 3, 2026. The role involves delivering compensatory ESY services tailored to the needs of students requiring adaptive physical education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide adaptive physical education instruction aligned with individual student IEP goals during the ESY period.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that accommodate physical, cognitive, and sensory disabilities.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers to support student progress.
  • Monitor and document student performance and participation.
  • Prepare any necessary materials and conduct 2 hours of lesson planning weekly.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid teaching credential with an Adaptive Physical Education (APE) endorsement.
  • Experience working with K-12 students with disabilities in a physical education setting.
  • Ability to deliver specialized physical education tailored to diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality compensatory summer services.

Position Details:

  • Location: Piedmont, California (on-site only)
  • Contract Duration: June 8, 2026 – July 3, 2026
  • Hours: 6 hours per week (4 contact hours of instruction, 2 hours of preparation)
  • Caseload: Small K-12 district providing compensatory ESY services.
