Qualifications:

• Current valid teaching credential with authorization in Adaptive Physical Education.
• Experience providing adaptive PE instruction in a school setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and ability to modify activities as needed.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff.
• Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for students with diverse abilities.

Responsibilities:

• Assess students’ physical abilities and develop appropriate adaptive physical education programs based on IEP goals.
• Deliver engaging, effective instruction that promotes motor skills, fitness, and self-confidence.
• Collaborate with special education teams, general education staff, and families.
• Track and document progress, making necessary adjustments to instruction.
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on student progress and program recommendations.
• Create a safe, positive, and motivating atmosphere for physical activity.
