Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) | Hopkins, Minnesota

Step into a dynamic contract position supporting students as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher for the full academic year. Key Qualifications:

• Valid Developmental/Adaptive Physical Education teaching license required
• Experience working in school settings or with students who have diverse developmental or physical abilities is strongly preferred
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
• Ability to develop individualized and engaging adaptive PE curriculum
• Organizational skills to efficiently document progress and fulfill IEP requirements

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide adaptive physical education instruction tailored to meet each student’s unique abilities and needs
• Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Monitor, assess, and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed to ensure participation and growth
• Create an inclusive, motivating, and safe learning environment where every student can thrive
• Participate actively in school team meetings, trainings, and professional development relevant to adaptive physical education
• Stay current on best practices and legal guidelines in adapted PE instruction
