Grades 6 - 8 Grades K - 5 Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) - Irving, TX

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Adaptive Physical Education or relevant educational field
• Experience providing physical education instruction to students in Grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12
• Expertise in designing and implementing adaptive curriculum and lesson plans to accommodate diverse abilities
• Strong collaboration skills for working with general education teachers, special education staff, and families
• Familiarity with IEP (Individualized Education Program) documentation and implementation
• Excellent communication and motivational abilities

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging adaptive physical education lessons suited to a variety of student abilities and grade levels
• Assess students’ physical abilities and collaborate on individual education goals
• Implement accommodations and modifications as specified in IEPs to ensure full participation
• Track progress, prepare regular reports, and communicate effectively with parents and educational staff
• Foster an inclusive, positive, and supportive classroom environment
• Maintain a safe and organized learning space and promote the value of health and fitness
