Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) - Kenner, LA

This onsite, full-time contract opportunity has you working closely with students to empower and inspire through tailored instruction. As an itinerant Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping students of diverse abilities thrive in a supportive educational setting.

What’s involved:

• Serve multiple locations (2-3 schools) on either the East or West Bank, depending on district needs
• Manage a flexible caseload based on your availability and the district’s requirements
• Plan and deliver engaging APE lessons for students across various age groups
• Adapt activities and curriculum to support students’ unique learning styles and abilities
• Collaborate with general and special education staff, paraprofessionals, and families
• Travel reliably between assigned campuses as part of your weekly routine

Qualifications:

• APE Teacher certification preferred; a valid PE teaching credential is required as a minimum
• Demonstrable experience or training in adaptive/modified physical education
• Reliable transportation for interschool travel
• Exceptional organization and time management abilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing schedules
• Ability to pass a district-required drug screen and fingerprint background check
