Make a difference as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher in an impactful contract role with a school-based setting near Matthews, NC. In this position, you will:

Requirements & Desired Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an approved education program
  • Valid North Carolina DPI PE Certification (please provide a screenshot of licensure)
  • Prior experience working with students with disabilities or in an adaptive physical education setting strongly preferred

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver adaptive PE instruction, modifying activities for students’ individual needs, abilities, IEPs, and goals
  • Create safe, structured, and inclusive PE learning environments
  • Tailor lesson plans and differentiate instruction for diverse student populations
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively and encourage positive social/physical development
  • Assess motor progress and document student achievements
  • Collaborate closely with special education teachers, therapists, families, and staff
  • Ensure activities are accessible and appropriate for students with varying cognitive, physical, and behavioral needs
  • Maintain thorough records and comply with district policies and student safety standards
  • Participate in professional development and take on additional duties as needed

Position Details:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week, contracted through May 28, 2028
  • Pay: $66 per hour
  • Interview format: Microsoft Teams
