Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Adaptive Physical Education (APE) or related field
• Experience working with K-12 students with a variety of physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and educational teams
• Ability to create inclusive and motivating lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
• Passion for fostering a positive, supportive learning environment

Responsibilities:

• Assess student abilities and develop personalized physical education plans
• Adapt curriculum and activities to engage and challenge each learner appropriately
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and support staff to maximize student success
• Implement IEP goals and monitor progress, providing regular updates to the educational team and families
• Create a safe, supportive environment that encourages participation and builds confidence in every student
• Utilize a variety of equipment and resources to keep activities fun, engaging, and accessible
• Participate in meetings, professional development, and school events as needed
