Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) - Minneapolis, MN

We are seeking an adaptive physical education teacher to collaborate with a dedicated team, ensuring every student has access to meaningful, engaging physical education experiences tailored to their unique needs.

In this contract role, you’ll work with two other adaptive PE teachers to provide outstanding instruction across five different schools. Assignments will be thoughtfully divided, so you can focus on one location at a time—minimizing daily travel. This opportunity spans the entire school year, from August 31, 2026, through June 10, 2027, and offers a consistent, part-time commitment of 30 hours per week.

Key qualifications:

• Holds a valid DAPE (Developmental Adapted Physical Education) license
• Experience teaching adaptive physical education or similar work with students with disabilities
• Ability to develop and differentiate activities for students with a wide array of abilities and needs
• Collaborative mindset for partnering with fellow educators and support staff
• Strong organizational skills for managing schedules across multiple sites

Role responsibilities:

• Design and implement adaptive physical education programs that meet both individual student goals and overall curriculum requirements
• Assess student needs and progress, adjusting instruction as necessary
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to support student success
• Participate in IEP meetings and help develop student goals related to physical education
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with district and state guidelines
