This position seeks an experienced Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to support students across various grade levels, including K-5, 6-8, and 9-12. The role is based in Minneapolis, MN, within a school setting under a contract arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized adaptive physical education programs tailored to students' abilities and needs.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to integrate physical education goals with overall student development plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, adapting lessons to enhance participation and achievement.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment that encourages physical activity and promotes wellness among students with diverse abilities.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by school policies.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Certification or licensure in Physical Education; certification in Adaptive Physical Education preferred.
  • Experience working with children in grades K-12, with a focus on adaptive physical education.
  • Strong understanding of physical disabilities and adaptive techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families.
  • Ability to design creative and safe instructional activities that meet varied student needs.
