Qualifications and Experience:

• Active certification in Adaptive Physical Education (APE)
• Experience adapting curriculum for students with diverse physical abilities
• Previous teaching experience across elementary, middle, and/or high school levels
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with staff, students, and families
• Ability to develop and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Knowledge of current best practices in inclusive physical education
• Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and participation in fitness activities

Role Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement adaptive physical education lessons tailored to individual needs
• Work with students in grades K–12 in both group and one-on-one settings
• Assess student abilities and create measurable learning objectives
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to support each student’s goals
• Maintain progress documentation and participate in IEP meetings
• Foster a safe, encouraging, and engaging environment for all learners
• Modify games and activities ensuring accessibility, safety, and fun
