Grades 9 - 12 K-5 Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) - Minneapolis, Minnesota

In this contract opportunity, you’ll work with students across a range of grade levels—from kindergarten through high school—helping them thrive through customized physical education programs. Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Adaptive or Special Physical Education
• Demonstrated experience working with students with diverse physical/learning needs
• Comfort with delivering instruction for Grades K-12
• Ability to develop and modify lesson plans to meet individualized education program (IEP) goals
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with staff, families, and support personnel
• Energetic, patient, and resourceful approach to engaging students

Primary Responsibilities:

• Create and implement adaptive physical education lessons tailored to each student’s needs
• Conduct assessments and adapt curriculum to support varied physical capabilities
• Maintain accurate progress records and participate in IEP meetings
• Utilize a variety of equipment and techniques to foster participation and self-confidence
• Promote inclusion and positive peer interaction in all activities
• Provide guidance to other staff for integrating adapted strategies classroom-wide
