Qualifications and Experience:
- Active certification in Adaptive Physical Education (APE)
- Experience adapting curriculum for students with diverse physical abilities
- Previous teaching experience across elementary, middle, and/or high school levels
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with staff, students, and families
- Ability to develop and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Knowledge of current best practices in inclusive physical education
- Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and participation in fitness activities
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement adaptive physical education lessons tailored to individual needs
- Work with students in grades K–12 in both group and one-on-one settings
- Assess student abilities and create measurable learning objectives
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to support each student’s goals
- Maintain progress documentation and participate in IEP meetings
- Foster a safe, encouraging, and engaging environment for all learners
- Modify games and activities ensuring accessibility, safety, and fun
