Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Adaptive Physical Education (APE) or Physical Education with an APE endorsement
• Previous experience working with students requiring adaptive services, preferably within a school setting
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, parents, and support staff
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Understanding of current best practices in adaptive movement, motor skills, and wellness for diverse learners
• Creative problem-solving abilities and a compassionate approach to student differences

Core Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver adaptive PE lessons tailored to students’ individual abilities and IEP goals
• Assess and document student progress, making necessary adjustments to support ongoing achievement
• Collaborate with educational teams to integrate adaptive activities within the broader curriculum
• Foster a safe, motivating, and inclusive class atmosphere
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, engagement, and progress
• Provide guidance and resources to classroom staff and families on best practices for supporting physical education for students with disabilities
