Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid teaching certification as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher or eligibility for certification
• Experience teaching physical education, with a focus on adaptive PE highly preferred
• Knowledge of IEP processes, modifications, and accommodations for diverse learners
• Ability to develop activities that support motor skills, coordination, and social development
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with teachers, support staff, and families

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement adaptive physical education programs tailored to students with different needs
• Assess student abilities and progress, adjusting instruction methods as necessary
• Collaborate with special education teams to ensure IEP goals are being met through PE instruction
• Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment
• Document student progress and participate in IEP meetings and planning
• Utilize a variety of equipment and activities to motivate and encourage students’ participation
