Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) | Osseo, Minnesota

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Developmental Adaptive Physical Education Teacher supporting students at the middle school level. Located near Osseo, MN, this dynamic role covers approximately the fall trimester with assignments at two middle school campuses. As a vital partner in meeting the unique physical education needs of students, you’ll design and implement adaptive lessons that foster every child’s potential.

Role highlights:

• Contract assignment, anticipated from early September through late November
• Full-time schedule, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
• Serve students at both Northdale Middle School and Roosevelt Middle School
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver personalized adaptive PE
• Shape inclusive experiences and empower students with diverse abilities

Key qualifications:

• Current and valid Minnesota DAPE (Developmental Adapted Physical Education) license required
• Proven experience instructing adaptive physical education at the school level strongly preferred
• Skilled at developing IEP-based adaptive PE curriculum and assessing student progress
• Collaborative communicator, able to partner with special education staff and families
• Highly organized and adaptable, with a commitment to supporting student growth

Primary responsibilities:

• Plan and implement individualized adaptive physical education programs for students with disabilities
• Track and document student progress, applying data-driven adaptations as needed
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to integrate adaptive strategies
• Foster a supportive, engaging, and safe physical activity environment for all learners
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals
