Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid teaching certification with an Adaptive Physical Education (APE) endorsement, or equivalent credentials
• Prior experience as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher or related role in a school setting
• Comprehensive understanding of adaptive strategies, lesson planning, and IEP implementation for diverse abilities
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with other educators, therapists, and families
• Ability to assess student abilities and design engaging, individualized activities
• Passion for promoting inclusive physical activity and encouraging student confidence

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Plan and deliver adaptive P.E. lessons tailored to meet each student's IEP goals and abilities
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and support personnel to ensure continuity and effectiveness of programming
• Assess student progress, adapt activities as needed, and provide ongoing feedback to staff and families
• Maintain detailed records, document services provided, and participate in IEP meetings
• Create a safe, nurturing atmosphere that helps every student participate and succeed
• Use creativity and flexibility to modify activities and employ adaptive equipment as required
