Adaptive PE Teacher in Riverside, CA

An opportunity is available for an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to support elementary students in Riverside, CA. This position is a contract role covering a leave of absence, with a duration from ASAP through March. The successful candidate will have experience working with elementary-aged children and a focus on inclusive physical education tailored to their unique needs.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement adaptive physical education programs that accommodate students with a variety of physical and developmental abilities.
• Assess individual student needs and modify activities to ensure participation and success in physical education.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to create supportive and effective learning environments.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in IEP meetings as appropriate.
• Promote physical fitness, coordination, and motor skills development through engaging and accessible activities.

Qualifications:

• Experience as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher, particularly in an elementary school setting.
• Knowledge of adaptive physical education techniques and best practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to student-centered instruction.
• Flexibility and adaptability to cover a leave assignment for the specified contract period.
