Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) | Riverside, California

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as an Adaptive Physical Education (APE) specialist working onsite with non-public school students in the Riverside area. As an integral part of the educational team, you'll support students across three schools, tailoring lessons to address their unique physical and developmental needs. Your expertise will help create a positive, inclusive environment and directly impact each student’s growth and confidence.

What we’re looking for:

• Current APE credential or eligibility for California APE authorization
• Experience developing and implementing specialized physical education plans for students with diverse abilities
• Strong understanding of IEP processes, including assessment, planning, and active participation in meetings
• Comfortable balancing a caseload that includes multiple sites and student needs
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, adaptable to working with both students and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to manage regular and makeup minutes, maintain timely documentation, and coordinate schedules across three campuses

Role Highlights:

• Provide direct APE sessions to elementary and secondary students, ensuring access to adaptive physical education per each IEP
• Travel weekly between Canyon View (San Dimas), Villa Esperanza (Pasadena), and Chino Spectrum (Chino Hills)
• Conduct regular and make-up sessions, keeping service minutes compliant with all documented requirements
• Perform thorough student assessments and contribute actively to IEP planning and meetings
• Collaborate closely with educators, families, and therapy teams to optimize student outcomes
