Grades K - 5 Grades 9 - 12 Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) in Saint Paul, MN

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education, Adaptive Physical Education, or related field
• Valid state teaching certification in Physical Education; Adaptive PE endorsement preferred
• Experience teaching students with diverse needs across K–12 grade levels
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and documentation
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with teachers, specialists, and families
• Passion for adapting curriculum to suit individual strengths and promote participation

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver developmentally appropriate adaptive PE lessons for students in grades K–5, 6–8, and 9–12
• Assess students’ abilities, develop goals, and implement individualized programs as part of the IEP process
• Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages social and physical development
• Collaborate with special education teams and families to ensure each student receives tailored support
• Track student progress, document outcomes, and adjust teaching approaches as needed
• Organize adapted physical activities, games, and special events to maximize engagement
