Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) - San Bernardino, California

Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching credential in Adaptive Physical Education or eligibility for appropriate certification
• Previous teaching experience in adaptive physical education is strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of IEP processes and ability to adapt instruction accordingly
• Experience working with K-12 student populations and diverse learning needs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and safe environment

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement adaptive physical education programs aligned with IEP goals
• Assess students’ motor skills and abilities; create individualized plans
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families
• Provide direct instruction in a variety of physical activities adapted for all levels
• Monitor and document student progress and adjust strategies as needed
• Support the school in promoting overall student wellness and participation
