Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching credential in Adaptive Physical Education or eligibility for appropriate certification
- Previous teaching experience in adaptive physical education is strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of IEP processes and ability to adapt instruction accordingly
- Experience working with K-12 student populations and diverse learning needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and safe environment
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement adaptive physical education programs aligned with IEP goals
- Assess students’ motor skills and abilities; create individualized plans
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families
- Provide direct instruction in a variety of physical activities adapted for all levels
- Monitor and document student progress and adjust strategies as needed
- Support the school in promoting overall student wellness and participation
