In this contract position, you'll provide direct APE services at three non-public schools, each with unique, motivated students who benefit from specialized physical education programs tailored to their individual needs. Your expertise will empower students, enhance their abilities, and help them thrive in their educational environments.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Adaptive Physical Education Specialist credential
  • Experience working with students with diverse physical and learning needs
  • Adept at developing and delivering individualized APE programs
  • Knowledge of IEP process, including preparing assessments and participating in meetings
  • Familiarity with managing regular and make-up minutes for APE services
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration and advocacy
  • Reliable transportation for travel between school sites

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver adaptive physical education to small caseloads at three schools: San Dimas, Pasadena, and Chino Hills
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and attend IEP meetings
  • Assess motor skills, write reports, and maintain documentation in compliance with state guidelines
  • Adapt and implement curriculum to meet the physical and developmental needs of each student
  • Track student progress; adjust instruction and support as needed
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment onsite
