Key Qualifications:
- Active California teaching credential with authorization for Adaptive Physical Education
- Demonstrated experience providing adaptive PE services in a school setting
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with staff, students, and families
- Ability to travel between school locations within district as part of an itinerant assignment
- Commitment to creating inclusive and supportive physical activity environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized adaptive physical education programs
- Assess students’ motor skills and physical abilities to tailor instruction to each learner
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Track student progress and maintain required documentation
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student goals and achievements
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute specialized expertise
