Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) | San Jose, California

Location: San Jose, California (School Setting, Contract Position)

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized adaptive physical education lesson plans that accommodate students' unique physical, cognitive, and developmental challenges.
• Assess students’ abilities and progress, adjusting activities to ensure safety and maximize engagement.
• Collaborate with general physical education teachers, occupational therapists, and other educators to create cohesive support plans.
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and builds confidence.
• Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and communicate regularly with families and school staff.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable educational standards and regulations related to adaptive physical education.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching credential or certification in Adaptive Physical Education.
• Proven experience working with students who have diverse physical and developmental needs.
• Strong knowledge of adaptive physical education principles and best practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
• Ability to create engaging, individualized programs that promote physical health and inclusion.
