Location: San Jose, California (School Setting, Contract Position)
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized adaptive physical education lesson plans that accommodate students' unique physical, cognitive, and developmental challenges.
- Assess students’ abilities and progress, adjusting activities to ensure safety and maximize engagement.
- Collaborate with general physical education teachers, occupational therapists, and other educators to create cohesive support plans.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and builds confidence.
- Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and communicate regularly with families and school staff.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable educational standards and regulations related to adaptive physical education.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching credential or certification in Adaptive Physical Education.
- Proven experience working with students who have diverse physical and developmental needs.
- Strong knowledge of adaptive physical education principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
- Ability to create engaging, individualized programs that promote physical health and inclusion.
