Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) | South Holland, Illinois

This contract opportunity offers the chance to work closely with students requiring modified physical education programs and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams dedicated to providing high-quality instruction and support.

Key Qualifications:

• Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher
• Background in designing and implementing individualized physical education plans
• Experience working with diverse student populations, including those with disabilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with staff and families
• Ability to monitor student progress and adjust activities to maximize participation and growth

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver personalized physical education lessons for students with unique needs
• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and families to integrate adaptive strategies into the school environment
• Assess students’ abilities and develop goals in accordance with IEPs or 504 plans
• Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and participation
• Foster an inclusive, encouraging environment that motivates all students to engage and succeed
• Adapt activities and utilize specialized equipment as necessary to ensure safety and accessibility

This role provides approximately 32.5 hours per week, allowing you to create a positive difference in students’ lives while enjoying a stable, rewarding schedule.
