Virtual Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) - New Mexico

An opportunity is available for an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher specializing in telehealth services, focusing on delivering adaptive physical education programs within a school setting. This role supports students with diverse physical needs by tailoring physical education activities to enhance their motor skills, coordination, and overall fitness through remote instructional methods.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing customized adaptive physical education lesson plans suited for telehealth delivery
• Collaborating with students, families, and educational staff to assess student needs and progress
• Utilizing technology platforms to conduct engaging, interactive sessions that promote physical activity and wellness
• Monitoring and documenting student progress and adapting programs as necessary
• Supporting recreational therapy goals through adaptive physical education strategies

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Certification or licensure in Adaptive Physical Education or related field
• Experience in telehealth or remote education, particularly within school environments
• Knowledge of adaptive physical activity techniques and therapeutic recreation principles
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for remote engagement
