Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) | Watsonville, California

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Adaptive Physical Education credential or eligibility for certification.
• Previous experience as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher preferred.
• Strong understanding of physical education modifications, IEPs, and adaptive strategies.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, student-focused approach.
• Ability to travel to various schools in the Watsonville and San Jose areas as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess students’ abilities and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for adaptive physical education.
• Deliver engaging and customized PE lessons that accommodate various student needs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and other staff to support inclusion and maximize student participation.
• Monitor student progress and adjust programming based on performance and feedback.
• Maintain detailed records, document student achievements, and participate in IEP meetings.
• Foster a positive and encouraging environment where all students can thrive.
