Adaptive PE Teacher in Youngsville, LA

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Degree in Physical Education, Special Education, or a related field
• Valid teaching certification in Adaptive Physical Education (or eligibility for certification)
• Knowledge of adaptive equipment and modified curriculum planning
• Experience working with children with disabilities in an educational setting
• Creativity, patience, and strong communication skills for fostering an inclusive learning environment

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized adaptive physical education lessons to ensure access for all students
• Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and families to support each child’s unique development
• Monitor and assess student progress, making instructional adjustments as needed
• Maintain compliance with IEP goals and documentation requirements
• Foster a positive, encouraging, and safe environment for all program participants
• Provide advocacy and guidance regarding adaptive equipment and modifications
