Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) - Youngsville, LA

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid credential or license to teach Adaptive Physical Education (APE) as required by the state
• Previous experience working with students with physical, intellectual, or emotional disabilities preferred
• Strong knowledge of adaptive strategies and modifications for physical education activities
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to develop, implement, and assess individualized education plans (IEPs)

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate students to determine appropriate adaptive physical education needs, goals, and progress
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to individual and group needs
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and school staff to ensure consistency and effectiveness in instruction
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings
