Step into a dynamic school-based role as an audiologist, providing vital services to support student learning and well-being. This full-time, itinerant position offers the chance to partner with educators and families to create inclusive and accessible learning environments for children with hearing needs. From now until the end of the school year, you’ll work 37.5 hours per week with 8-hour days (including a 30-minute lunch), traveling between sites within the district to make a meaningful impact in multiple school communities.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Audiology from an accredited program
- Current California state licensure or eligibility
- Valid ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) preferred
- Previous experience in a school setting highly desirable
- Familiarity with educational audiology assessments, FM/DM system fitting and maintenance
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse student populations and multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive hearing assessments and screenings for students
- Recommend and implement appropriate interventions and accommodations
- Collaborate with special education staff, classroom teachers, and families on individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 plans
- Provide fittings, checks, troubleshooting, and training for amplification devices and assistive technology
- Maintain documentation and report findings in accordance with district and legal requirements
- Serve as an educational resource on hearing and listening issues, advocating for student needs across campuses
