Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity working as an audiologist in an educational setting, supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students for a 12-week assignment through Thanksgiving Break. This onsite position provides a unique chance to collaborate with a dedicated team, make a tangible difference in the lives of DHH students, and partner with families and educators to foster student success.
Key Qualifications:
- Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) or Master's Degree in Audiology
- Valid Michigan Audiology License
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A)
- Preferably 3–5 years' experience in pediatric and/or educational audiology
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive audiological assessments and DHH evaluations to assess students’ auditory and communication abilities
- Interpret complex evaluation results and clearly communicate findings to teachers, families, and school personnel
- Partner with clinical audiologists and ENT providers to facilitate medical clearances and DHH eligibility
- Consult with school staff and families on the educational impacts of hearing loss, ensuring appropriate accommodations are in place
- Support the Early On Team for the DHH birth-to-age-3 population, including home visits as needed
- Guide families through clinical recommendations and follow-up care
- Engage in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and contribute to educational planning
