This contract opportunity spans late August through Thanksgiving break, providing crucial educational support across a local district. You’ll collaborate closely with educators, families, and clinical professionals, ensuring every student receives the individualized attention and care they deserve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct educationally focused audiological assessments and DHH-specific evaluations
- Partner with clinical audiologists and ENT providers for comprehensive medical documentation and technology clearances
- Support families as they follow up with clinical recommendations
- Translate evaluation findings for parents, teachers, and school teams, empowering effective communication and learning
- Consult on the educational impacts of hearing loss and participate in IEP or 504 planning
- Engage with the Early On Team to serve children from birth up to age 3, including occasional home visits
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) or Master’s in Audiology
- Current Michigan Audiology License
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A)
- Demonstrated experience—ideally 3-5 years working with pediatric and/or school-based audiology
- Deep understanding of support for DHH youth in educational settings
- Strong communication and consultative abilities with families, staff, and healthcare providers
