As an on-site audiologist, you’ll serve as a vital resource for students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, primarily working from Mission Academy while supporting additional campuses as needed. Flexible scheduling (15–20 hours per week, 2–3 days/week) allows you to balance your commitment alongside other interests and responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Audiology
- Current ASHA certification (a waiver is available for qualifying candidates holding this credential)
- Valid state licensure to practice Audiology plus appropriate licensure to fit and repair hearing aids
- Minimum 5 years of experience in school-based settings or the equivalent
- Successful completion of licensing exam
- Ability to pass required fingerprinting and background check
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology services (including hearing aid fitting and repair) for approximately 50 students districtwide, focusing on those transported to Mission Academy or Highland High School
- Schedule and provide troubleshooting and testing services for district students, coordinating with school staff and itinerant teachers
- Travel occasionally to individual campuses throughout the district to meet student needs
- Maintain thorough documentation and collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and family members
- Receive local support from resident staff to ensure seamless service delivery
