This 12-week contract covers a maternity leave and involves working onsite with Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students from birth to age 21, ensuring every student receives the specialized attention they need to thrive academically and personally.
Key Qualifications:
- Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) or Master’s Degree in Audiology required
- Active Michigan Audiology License
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A)
- At least 3–5 years of experience working in pediatric or educational audiology is preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive audiological assessments and DHH evaluations focused on auditory and communication skills as they relate to the classroom
- Collaborate with clinical audiologists, ENT providers, and educational teams to gather medical documentation and secure Hearing Assistive Technology (HAT) approvals
- Ensure follow-up with families regarding clinical and educational recommendations
- Interpret evaluation findings and communicate outcomes effectively to teachers, parents, and school staff, helping shape supportive educational plans
- Consult with families and support staff about the impact of hearing loss within the classroom environment
- Engage with the Early On Team, providing services to children from birth to age three, including occasional home visits to support early intervention
This contract offers a full-time schedule (35–37.5 hours per week) onsite, providing the chance to work closely with a multidisciplinary team and see the direct results of your expertise.
