Autism Spectrum Disorder Specialist in Lincoln Park, MI

As an ASD specialist, you’ll play a vital role in helping students achieve their full potential by delivering individualized instruction and fostering a supportive classroom environment.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching certification with Special Education endorsement required
• Demonstrated experience as an Autism Specialist or Special Education Teacher in a school-based setting
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based strategies for supporting students on the autism spectrum
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Experience working with families and multidisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, adapting lessons to meet various learning needs
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with staff and families
• Collect ongoing data on student progress and adjust interventions accordingly
• Utilize positive behavioral supports to enhance student engagement
• Work closely with general education teachers, therapists, and paraprofessionals to ensure cohesive support
• Maintain accurate records, reporting, and communication with necessary stakeholders
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
