This position is for a Special Education teacher with a focus on Autism support, covering a maternity leave at a middle school located in Piscataway, NJ. The assignment runs from October 27, 2025, through March 13, 2026, and serves students in grades 6 through 8.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with Autism and other special education needs.
  • Manage and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) effectively.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of student performance and communication with families.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Special Education Teacher with autism specialization.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload of middle school students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong understanding of best practices in special education and behavioral interventions.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and educational teams.

Contract Details:

  • Leave coverage position on a contractual basis.
  • Duration: October 27, 2025 – March 13, 2026.
  • Caseload: Students in grades 6-8.
  • Bill rate to be determined.
