Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) | Brentwood, Tennessee

Seeking a dedicated Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to support a middle and high school population at a specialized program serving students with significant behavioral needs. This contract opportunity is available immediately through the end of the current school year, with renewal or a permanent placement possible. The position is based near Brentwood, TN and will involve direct, on-site work with students in grades 6 through 12.

You’ll work within a collaborative team, partnering with a cooperative district to support students whose behavioral challenges are beyond what typical district services provide, but do not reach the clinical threshold of a medical facility. The students in this setting are older, physically larger, and present with extreme behaviors—including elopement, crises requiring immediate intervention, incidents involving smearing, and significant self-injurious or aggressive actions. Staff support includes 2:1 para assistance for some students, as well as a team of 10 paraprofessionals/RBTs and several aides.

Qualifications:

• Current BCBA certification is required (RBT credentials are not sufficient for this role)
• Experience supporting older students with intense behavioral challenges, preferably in a school, clinic, or residential environment
• Strong crisis intervention skills and experience designing individualized crisis response plans
• Ability to train and guide RBTs, paras, and teaching staff, as well as provide leadership in multi-disciplinary settings
• Excellent skills in functional behavior assessments and developing, implementing, and monitoring behavioral intervention plans

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate student behavior, develop comprehensive behavior intervention plans, and monitor progress
• Support, coach, and train registered behavior technicians and paraprofessional staff
• Foster communication and collaboration across teaching teams, administrators, and family members
• Provide leadership around crisis intervention and ensure safety protocols are followed for extreme behaviors
• Facilitate ongoing professional development related to behavior supports
