Desired Background and Skills:
- Active BCBA certification
- Professional experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and designing evidence-based Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Familiarity supporting K–age 22 students with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Skill in coaching and training classroom staff, teachers, and assistants
- Proficient in implementing de-escalation techniques, such as Safety-Care procedures and least restrictive interventions
- Strong competency monitoring, analyzing, and applying behavioral data to program decisions
- Effective communicator, able to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and families
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct FBAs and develop individualized BIPs rooted in current behavioral science
- Train and support education staff on BIP implementation and ongoing behavioral support
- Provide direct support during behavioral incidents, prioritizing proactive and least restrictive approaches
- Collaborate with teaching staff, related service providers, and families for comprehensive student support
- Review and interpret student progress data to refine interventions and instruction
- Participate in and help coordinate professional development, sharing and gaining insights from peers
