Step into a dynamic educational environment for a contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) from September 23 to December 11. Based in a vibrant setting near Elgin, IL, your expertise will help shape positive behaviors and foster growth in students from kindergarten through fifth grade. This position is designed as a resource to the entire school, serving in a coaching capacity rather than managing a direct caseload.
Your workday will run from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, with a guaranteed 7.5-hour schedule that includes a lunch break. The focus will be on coaching school staff in evidence-based interventions, supporting a proactive approach to behavioral management, and collaborating with educators and administrators to create an inclusive, supportive learning atmosphere.
Key qualifications and desired experience:
- Current BCBA certification required
- Experience working in K-5 educational settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) or similar frameworks
- Excellent communication and coaching skills with teachers, paraprofessionals, and staff
- Ability to develop strategies individualized to student and classroom needs
Responsibilities will include:
- Partnering with staff to assess behavioral challenges and recommend interventions
- Leading trainings and modeling implementation of best practices
- Monitoring progress and adjusting techniques as necessary
- Fostering collaboration between school personnel to promote consistency in behavior supports
- Documenting coaching activities and providing feedback to the administration
