A contract opportunity is available for a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to work with 6th-12th grade students in a unique educational setting near Elkhorn, NE. This role begins as soon as possible, continuing through the end of the school year, with potential for renewal or transition to a permanent position.
The assignment involves partnering with a cooperatively managed district to support older students exhibiting significant behavioral challenges. The facility operates outside a traditional campus—think of a retail-style environment—serving students whose needs surpass district offerings but are less intensive than what local clinics accommodate.
Qualifications:
- Active Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification is required
- Experience working with adolescents, especially those demonstrating severe/extreme behaviors
- Strong crisis intervention, de-escalation, and behavior planning skills, including development and execution of crisis plans
- Prior leadership in supporting and coaching Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), paraprofessionals, and educators
- Solid understanding of functional behavior assessment and intervention strategies
- Comfortable managing high-intensity behaviors such as elopement, self-injury, and aggression
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough behavioral assessments and implement behavioral intervention plans
- Train and coach a team of approximately 10 paraprofessionals/RBTs and several aides
- Provide mentorship and support for classroom teachers as they manage behavioral crises and daily classroom needs
- Collaborate with district staff to continuously evaluate student needs and adjust supports accordingly
- Take an active role in crisis planning and response for students with challenging behaviors, including those requiring intensive 2:1 support
This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students who truly need expert support. If you’re a collaborative BCBA ready to lead, train, and innovate in a dynamic, nontraditional school environment, submit your application today and help shape the future for these students and their dedicated team.
