Step into a rewarding contract opportunity where your expertise as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) can make a true impact in a vibrant elementary setting near Englewood, CO. The position arises from a critical need for stability: after an extended absence and resignation of the previous teacher, the classroom has seen many substitutes and now needs a consistent, skilled lead. Your behavioral knowledge will not only benefit students but also help mentor an aspiring paraprofessional as she continues her own licensure journey.
Key Qualifications:
- Active BCBA certification required
- Experience supporting elementary-aged students with autism or significant behavioral needs
- Background in co-regulation, physical support, and developing effective behavior interventions
- Ability to mentor and guide support staff, fostering professional growth
- Completion of district background check and fingerprinting required before start
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead instruction and develop behavior support plans for a specialized ASD classroom
- Collaborate with and mentor paraprofessionals, including coaching an aspiring SPED teacher
- Provide hands-on assistance for students, including diapering and necessary physical supports
- Offer consistent, evidence-based behavioral strategies to foster student independence
- Ensure effective communication and partnership with staff and families
You’ll enjoy being part of a supportive team in a setting committed to student success and professional growth. This contract runs through late May, offering a stable assignment in a dynamic, caring environment.
