Job Type Contract To Hire

Make a meaningful impact working one-on-one with first grade students as a Special Education Teacher for an Extended School Year setting. A full-time, 40 hour per week opportunity, this contract-to-hire position is located near Fairfax, VA, and offers robust support from on-site administration to help you succeed in your role. You’ll champion students with behavioral needs, including those with Autism and ADHD, through personalized instruction and evidence-based interventions.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a BCBA, Special Education Teacher, or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
  • Demonstrated experience or coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis and behavioral interventions
  • Prior work with students with Autism and ADHD strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and data-driven instructional practices
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with other educational professionals, students, and families
  • Compassion, patience, and a commitment to fostering student growth

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct, individualized support and instruction to a first grade student in a one-on-one setting
  • Develop and implement tailored academic and behavioral strategies to address specific needs
  • Collect, track, and report student progress using data and collaborate with the administrative team
  • Adjust interventions as needed, ensuring alignment with each student’s IEP and goals
  • Communicate regularly with families, paraprofessionals, and onsite administration
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
