A contract-to-hire opportunity is available for a dedicated professional to work as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in a supportive school environment. Situated near Fairfax, VA, this full-time, 40-hour-per-week position is tailored for the Extended School Year program and offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of 1st grade students.
You’ll be providing one-on-one support for students with behavioral needs, working closely with a caring team of administrators who will be on site to offer guidance and support. Your skills and compassion will help create an encouraging, consistent environment for children with Autism, ADHD, and varied behavioral needs.
Desired Background/Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Previous experience working in school settings, preferably with elementary-aged children
- Comfortable and effective in one-on-one student sessions
- Demonstrated experience assisting students with Autism and ADHD
- Strong interpersonal communication and collaborative abilities
- Reliable, compassionate, and adaptable to evolving student needs
What You’ll Do:
- Provide direct behavioral interventions to 1st grade students in a one-on-one setting
- Implement behavior support plans and track student progress
- Collaborate with administration and school staff to ensure a positive learning environment
- Utilize evidence-based practices for students with Autism, ADHD, and other behavioral challenges
- Document interventions and outcomes thoroughly and accurately
- Foster supportive relationships, promoting communication and encouragement for student growth
